Breastfeeding is a very special and natural way to feed your baby, but unfortunately that doesn’t mean it is easy and problem free from day one. Research shows the number one factor that helps women be able to meet their breastfeeding goals is having good support in the first few weeks. If you have a family member or friend who has successfully breastfed, they can be a big help! Some pediatric offices or maternity units have lactation consultants you can set up an outpatient visit with. In my opinion, there is nothing better than having your breastfeeding support specialist come to you, and work with you and your newborn in the comfort of your own home.

Our visits include an assessment of breasts, nipples, and newborn mouth, troubleshooting latch difficulties or pain, a weighted feed to assess transfer of milk, and a personalized plan for the next 48 hours. All visits include text/email support for 2 weeks. Visits can be repeated as much as desired until you feel comfortable with the way your breastfeeding journey is going. If you are going to be returning to work I can also help with making a personalized pumping plan in order to have milk stored in advance, have your baby continue receiving breast milk when being cared for by someone else, and maintain your milk supply when working.

Let's work together!
